Subject: Knesset - Very Important Fur Trade Ban in Israel
Dear Honorable Officials Of Israel and the Knesset including the Minister of Religious Services:
Earlier this month, you as Israeli politicians were scheduled to vote on a historic bill to help thousands of animals. If successful, Israel would be the first country in the world to ban fur trade and production! But this crucial vote was postponed when your Minister of Religious Services intervened and requested that the bill be sent back for review. Your Minister for Trade is under pressure from the cruel fur industry to withold his support for the ban.
If the ban succeeds and comes into force, Israel would be setting an example that other countries are sure to follow. You would be seen as a world leader in compassion and kindness. It's imperative and important that the vote proceeds and the fur trade will be banned! This would be a milestone in animal protection and I absolutely support such a great ban of cruelty in Israel!
So please resist the pressure from the horrible fur industry. I am sure that the international fur industry is lobbying hard to protect its trade, but this unscrupulous self-interest group has had ample opportunity to face up to the cruelty involved in fur production. Every year, approximately 70 million animals suffer and are killed for their fur - more than one animal every second, day and night, throughout the year. Wearing fur is cruel and unnecessary and nobody really needs a "Shtreimel? fur cap.
The vast majority of people in Israel (at least 79 per cent) and around the world care about animals and want to see this legislation passed. The world is watching and passing this historic legislation for animals would be seen as an important step forward in humanity.
Thank you in advance for your efforts and best wishes,
Adile Pannicke
